Overall Position Summary and Objectives

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is seeking a dynamic and skilled Project Manager to lead the Collection of Alternative Methods for Regulatory Application (CAMERA) project. This role focuses on managing the development and implementation of a centralized database, and web-based user interface, that facilitates the adoption and standardization of validated/qualified New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for regulatory use. Managing the CAMERA project covers initial planning and design through to implementation and evaluation, managing a multidisciplinary team, and engaging with diverse stakeholders to ensure CAMERA’s development aligns with both domestic and global regulatory needs.

Work Details:

 

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation library using designated applications and tools. 1 

  • Coordinate, track and complete action items and report progress to project owners. 2 

  • Prepare progress reports, summaries, descriptions, and other materials to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. 3 

  • Recommend and support routine project management meetings, updates and prepare a variety of status reports and dashboards. 4 

  • Conduct project-related activities, including developing needed materials, power-point presentations, arranging discussions, and facilitating interactions. 5 

  • Develops project management documentation. 
  • Creates project in designated project management software and ensure all necessary staff have access. 
  • Assist staff coordinate project management activities, to include routine meetings and development of reports. Monitors and reports progress to project owners. 
  • Support internal resources plan and implement activities in support of project in accordance with project priorities and schedule. 
  • Prepare project dashboards and summaries, milestone status and updates to work breakdown structure as necessary. 
  • Conducts project analysis and reports to upper management. 
  • Develop summaries of project status and performance for review with upper management. 
  • Present project updates and status reports at recurrent staff and management meetings. 
  • Develops and tracks project budgets. 
  • Establish project metrics to measure and evaluate project cost and performance. 
  • Research project management best practices and new industry standards. 
  • Coordinate and conduct internal management studies and provide trend analyses to project owners. 
  • Perform literature reviews of related projects to identify new approaches to improving project management.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and support to other project managers. 
  • Provide expert review and recommendation regarding other project management plans. 
  • Provide researchers and non-project staff presentations on appropriate project management practices.
