Axle is seeking a highly ambitious, adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS).

Overall Position Summary and Objectives:   

The project coordinator will join a national, highly interactive, supportive, and interdisciplinary group of technologists, researchers and information experts. They will support development of approaches that derive insights from data to lead to advances in research, clinical practice and personalized medicine.  

This professional will have experience in coordinating project tasks and activities in a fast-paced environment. This motivated individual will work collaboratively with technical and research project teams to ensure project deliverables are completed on time. 

Examples of Work Performed: 

  • Coordinate tasks for a geographically distributed and interdisciplinary project. 
  • Schedule and manage all relevant meetings, including generating agendas with input from appropriate parties, facilitating, taking brief meeting minutes, recording action items and decisions (item, responsible party, due date; decision, rationale, date of decision), following up with parties, and recording updates. 
  • Track and manage status deliverables, including timelines, track tasks, action items, issues, and decisions using product and project management software. 
  • Work closely with project teams, project managers, and others to complete administrative tasks. 
  • Assist with drafting, distributing and maintaining documentation and documents. 
  • Attend all specified meetings; listen for possible issues and raise those issues to appropriate individuals. 
  • Develop and contribute to a tracking system for the topics discussed so that topics, decisions, and rationale can be revisited as needed. 
  • Raise agenda items from across the components. 
  • Develop and give presentations and provide high-level updates to leadership. 
  • Effectively coordinates the development of slide presentations. 
  • Coordinates project on/off boarding tasks for team members. 
  • Effectively communicate the status of work, including all requirements, to the internal and external project teams, stakeholders, and leadership. 
  • Assist with event planning (online and, eventually, in-person). 

 

Required Skills: 

  • Previous experience interfacing with virtual teams  
  •  Familiar with project management methodologies
  • Meticulous organization (e.g. document and information management skills) 
  • Ability to be self-directed and work well in a cross-functional and interdisciplinary team 
  • Ability to remain positive and calm under deadline pressure 
  • Ability to collaborate and work with team members of all levels with utmost professionalism 
  •  Very strong interpersonal skills required, with excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills  
  • Proficiency with MS Office required; Google Suite is preferred

Minimum Education: 

   Bachelor’s
